Myotherapy BrunswickWe offer Myotherapy treatments at Myotherapy & Remedial Massage Brunswick.  Myotherapy is the treatment of specific muscle dysfunction, focusing on the assessment of a specific area of your body, or an injury.  Providing a targeted therapeutic hands on treatment to alleviate the cause of discomfort, and manage any underlying physical issues.

Part of the Myotherapy treatment is using trigger point therapy to treat pain, and promote change in the tissue. Part of the treatment is locating and treating trigger points related to the muscular pain the client is experiencing. The aim of the treatment is to alleviate the musculoskeletal pain, and restore normality to the muscle tissue, and joint mobility.

There is a lot of over-lap between Remedial Massage and Myotherapy treatments, and at Myoherapy and Remedial Massage Brunswick, we had all been trained and practicing Remedial Massage therapists.  We have gone on to extend our practice to include Myotherapy, which has been part of a extended training and educational program, undertaken by the Practitioners.  Myotherapy is a targeted and specific form of treatment, which includes techniques to promote healing and encourage soft tissue recovery and mobility.

The Myotherapists at Myotherapy and Remedial Massage Brunswick can treat a range of musculoskeletal dysfunctions.  Myotherapy uses targeted techniques including, specific soft-tissue massage to localised or pain referral areas of the body.  Some further techniques that can be incorporated into a Myotherapy treatment include, dry-needling, cupping, trigger point therapy, stretching and strengthening.

Myofascial pain and dysfunction can sometimes present as, numbness and tingling, stiffness and immobility in your joints, a deep ache or strong feeling of pressure, feeling tired or fatigued, sore and tender muscle tissue.  It can also present in postural conditions, chronic pain.  Myotherapy can assist with managing pain to specific areas, such as shoulder impingement and rotator cuff injuries, and joint pain stemming from soft-tissue injuries.  Myotherapy can be incredibly beneficial in managing soft-tissue discomfort post surgery, long term injuries and and reducing headaches.
